Commercial Cafe is a not-for-profit organisation that aims to support diverse aspiring solicitors to develop their commercial awareness.

We offer workshops and mentorship programs that help participants gain a deeper understanding of the commercial world. We want to support you to develop your commercial awareness actively rather than passively.

Our mission is to level the playing field for underrepresented groups and provide a pathway for them to excel in their legal careers. By supporting diverse talent, Commercial Cafe is not only helping individuals achieve their goals but also promoting a more inclusive legal industry.

fundamentals programme

our core programme

The Fundamentals Programme is an introduction to core commercial awareness concepts.

It is a series of 10 weekly online sessions, completely free of charge and aimed at aspiring solicitors from diverse backgrounds.

community and collaboration

The programme aims to build both the knowledge and confidence of participants.

The environment aims to be one of collaboration, with participants supporting each other with their development.

going beyond reading

The purpose of the programme is to enable participants to go beyond passively reading the news to build their commercial awareness.

Through a series of interactive workshops, the aim is for participants to understand what law firms mean when they refer to commercial awareness, and to apply this knowledge practically to their training contract and vacation scheme applications.
